Reason for this
From time to time we are inundated with particular items or have to decline goods that we might take at other times. Trends, fashion and technology affect us as well as high street stores, but we don’t have central distribution warehouses to hold excess stock.
An example of this was teak G-Plan display units from the 70/80s. We had several that did not sell for over a year and had to decline many more. Then Kirstie Allsopp did a TV show on how to up-cycle those exact units. We sold our entire stock in a few days and did not have a donation of one for over 6 months.
Another is TVs. Old CRT TVs are no longer reusable and flat screen TVs that do not have a digital tuner will will also go that way in the next couple of years as digi boxes are no longer being donated.
All collections are at the discretion of the driver who will evaluate the item when he calls.
Please remember that although we are a charity we are also a Ltd. Company (to protect our Trustees, who are all volunteers) and if we take items that are not suitable for re-use they have to be disposed of at the local dump and as a company we can be charged, as a resident you are not.
please remember this list is constantly changing
